Convert / upload mode roadmap

PDF to PDF/A Roadmap

PDF/A conversion requires standards validation, font handling and color profile checks. VaultPDF will not claim compliance without validator-backed output.

how it works

Designed for the shortest private path.

  1. Use local resize, metadata and page tools today.
  2. PDF/A requires validator-backed output.
  3. Compliance mode will ship only with a documented pass/fail report.
advanced feature boundary

PDF/A is not shipped in the local MVP yet.

This feature needs a higher quality bar than the current browser-only pipeline. If it later requires upload or AI processing, VaultPDF will separate it from local tools and ask for explicit consent before any file leaves the browser.

quality gate

PDF/A compliance gate

Output must pass a standards validator instead of simply setting metadata that says PDF/A.

faq

Practical boundaries before you process a file.

Why not simply save as PDF/A?

PDF/A is a compliance format. Fonts, metadata, color profiles and embedded files must be validated.

Will VaultPDF show validation results?

Yes. A future PDF/A feature should include a clear validation report.
